CCES Inaugurates Reading Nipa Hut: A Milestone Project for Literacy Development

On August 15, 2025, Camp Claudio Elementary School (CCES) successfully held the Blessing, Turnover Ceremony, and Ribbon Cutting of the Reading Nipa Hut, a meaningful project designed to strengthen the culture of reading in the school.

This milestone was made possible through the dedication and collaboration of the CCES Executive Committee for the Reading Nipa Hut, led by Dr. Sharon P. Revuelta, MT II/OIC-Principal (Chairperson); Ms. Vilma M. Langcay, Teacher III, Reading Coordinator (Vice Chairperson); Ms. Melanie B. Salamillas, Teacher II, Reading Coordinator; Ms. Imelda Alibang, Teacher II (Secretary); Ms. Janet A. Silos, Master Teacher I (Treasurer); Ms. Cherry Love Gabayno, Master Teacher I (Auditor); along with members Emmalyn Gerarman, Teacher III; Lalaine Morante, Teacher I; Maricris Mendoza, Teacher II; and all English teachers.

The school also expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Camp Claudio Elementary School Alumni Association (CCESAA), led by Ms. Helen Grace B. Mendoza-Balite, as well as to the City Government of Parañaque represented by Hon. Cong. Eric L. Olivarez, Hon. Vice Mayor Florencio “Benjo” Bernabe III, and Hon. Cllr. Pablo “Paolo” Olivarez II. Support from the Barangay Council, under the leadership of Hon. Brgy. Capt. Jenn Quizon and Kagawads Catherine Aguilar, Eric Baes, Richmond Favila, and Darwin Morit, was also deeply acknowledged.

Special recognition was given to Former Cllr. Hon. Marvin Santos; Aerosky Service Corp. Senior Managers Erica T. Hontiveros and Evangeline Baggayan; Jules Ferraris; Ness Chy; Engr. Rommel L. Marabe; Engr. & Mrs. Dennis Amor Abana; Mila Manalo; and Jean Macopia for their invaluable contributions.

The event also highlighted the generosity of donors from various grade levels, advisers, and teachers, as well as the unwavering support of the Schools Division Office of Parañaque, led by Dr. Loreta B. Torrecampo (SDS), Mr. Rodel Apostol (CID Chief), Dr. Rodrigo Morales (EPS in English), Dr. Edwin Doria (EPS in Filipino), Dr. Ma. Dolora M. Zaragoza (PSDS – District I), and Dr. Florante Garcia (EPS, LRMDS).

Likewise, the school extended its appreciation to the School-Parent Teacher Association (SPTA) Officers for S.Y. 2025-2026, led by President Liezel B. Monte, Vice President Gino B. Ramirez, Secretary Ma. Jenelie R. Patricio, Auditor Shielalyn Buscato, and Business Manager Pauline Mae D. Revuelta, together with the SPTA Board of Directors. Gratitude was also given to Capt. Lemar Dela Calzada, PN (GSC) and the CCES Reading Nipa Hut Technical Working Group (TWG) members for their active involvement.

Above all, heartfelt thanks were offered to Rev. Father Tommy Lira, who led the blessing of the Reading Nipa Hut, making the occasion more meaningful and spiritually enriching.

This project stands as a clear testament that through the unity of teachers, parents, learners, alumni, government, and the community, nothing is impossible in advancing the education of the youth.
